How to Have Hackcat Analyze a Log Segment?
Preserve event order and key fields to obtain verifiable troubleshooting suggestions.
Select Records with Context
Preferably provide a continuous segment of logs before and after the issue occurs, rather than just the last line. Specify the program generating the logs, the time range, the mode of operation, and the expected behavior. If you have already tried restarting, adjusting configurations, or changing inputs, include these changes as well to help distinguish the original problem from subsequently introduced phenomena.
Clarify the Analysis You Expect
Paste an appropriate amount of text into the input box, or use the currently available attachment option. You can request explanations of events in chronological order, identification of the earliest anomalies, and suggestions for the minimal next checks. Retain error codes and field names; sensitive values can be replaced with consistent placeholders.
- Specify the program, scenario, and time when the anomaly appeared.
- Provide key logs and methods already attempted.
- Request a detailed list of evidence, possible causes, and verification steps.
Do Not Treat All Warnings as Root Causes
Warnings, timeouts, and subsequent errors in logs may be different manifestations of the same issue. When reading responses, check whether each cause corresponds to clear records; you can ask, "Which piece of evidence best supports this conclusion?" Without actual runtime checks, troubleshooting steps are only suggestions. After adding new logs, continue the original task and explain what changes occurred. When multiple services are involved, indicate the source of each log segment to avoid confusion about the sequence of events.
