What is Extra Usage and How to Confirm if It Is Enabled?
Understand the package included usage, extra balance, and subscription fees separately.
It Is a Separately Managed Usage Method
Eligible accounts can continue to use the corresponding capabilities beyond the package included usage through extra usage. It has independent enable status and balance settings, and should not be understood as all usage beyond the package being automatically free after purchase.
Access to some models may also involve extra usage conditions; please refer to the current model menu and account page for details.
Three Things to Check Before Enabling
Open User Menu → Settings → Extra Usage; the entry, purchase, and configuration capabilities depend on the current account and billing status.
For example, if included usage still exists but a model with extra access conditions is selected, you should also read the model’s requirements for extra usage. Do not judge ability to send requests solely by a non-zero balance; the switch, spending limits, and current account access path all need to be met simultaneously.
- Confirm whether extra usage is enabled.
- Check the current balance and the fee explanations listed on the page.
- Check the monthly spending cap and auto-recharge status.
- After confirming the conditions, return to the task you want to continue.
Still Cannot Use After Enabling
Having the switch on does not mean the balance is sufficient, and having a balance does not mean spending limits have not been reached. If billing operations are temporarily unavailable, follow the page prompts and do not repeatedly purchase for testing. Turning off extra usage will not revoke usage already incurred; account subscriptions and extra usage are different settings, so after adjusting one, recheck the status of the other.
Extra usage is not only used after the included quota is exhausted: when Pro or Pro+ users use Max models, the corresponding usage is directly counted as extra usage. Do not assume that a Max request will not use extra balance just because included quota remains. Whether Team accounts can select Max still depends on the actual model menu.
