How to Choose the Right Model for Your Task?
Select a model based on task difficulty, available permissions, and result requirements.
First, Determine the Desired Outcome
The model selector is located in the task input area. First clarify whether you need concept explanations, material organization, or multi-step analysis performed by tools, then review the model descriptions provided in the current mode. Model tiers are not task permissions: choosing a higher tier will not automatically connect to a computer or grant file modification access.
For work you are trying for the first time, you can start by using Auto to complete a small sample, check the structure, basis, and omissions, then decide on subsequent choices.
Compare Using the Same Criteria
Different tasks have different model requirements. When comparing, keep the materials, questions, and output format consistent; do not judge solely by text length or response speed.
For example, when comparing two configurations, you can have the model first list the differences, then explain whether each change affects your goal; if key differences are missed, prioritize supplementing materials or narrowing the question before comparing other models. This kind of check is more reliable than judging by how professional the answer sounds alone.
- Choose a small task with a clearly correct result.
- Request the basis, unknown conditions, and verification methods.
- Compare key errors and areas needing rework among available models.
Pay Attention to Access and Usage
Options locked in the menu indicate your account does not yet meet access conditions. Read the prompt for that option first, then decide whether to review plans or extra usage. Changing models will not remove account limits; prices and purchase availability are based on the current page.
