Hackcat

Can I use desktop connection of another computer in the browser?

Keep the target desktop online and select the corresponding machine within the same account.

First establish desktop connection on the target computer

Open Hackcat Desktop on the computer where you actually want to run the tool, log in with the same account used for the web, and wait for "Desktop application connected" in the settings. Simply opening the website on a phone or another computer will not automatically grant local execution capability on the target machine. The desktop application must remain running on the target machine; files and commands belong to that machine's own system environment.

Select the connected target machine on the web page

After logging into the same account on the web, switch Agent and open the environment selector to find the corresponding computer name. Do not confuse the computer hosting the web page with the selected execution computer; before issuing tasks, specify the target working directory clearly, and you can use read-only mode to verify returned results. Even if the connection is available, it does not guarantee that every desktop-specific interface feature is operable in the browser—for example, modifying project binding directories still requires opening the desktop application.

Recover at the remote end when remote is unavailable

If a disconnection is indicated, the web page's reconnection instructions will require opening Hackcat Desktop on the selected computer, logging into the same account, and keeping the application running. Repeatedly refreshing the web page cannot replace starting the application remotely. After connection is restored, first open the original task to check its status before deciding the next step; do not directly assign the task to another machine assuming the original files have already been synchronized.
