How to Move Existing Tasks Into or Out of Projects?

Adjust task categorization while retaining the original conversation content.

Decide the Assignment First

Tasks can be categorized based on work objects, research topics, or stages. Before moving, open the task to confirm its content, especially for tasks with similar names, to avoid placing them in the wrong project by only looking at the title. If a task involves multiple objectives, you can first organize the title and summary, then decide how to assign it to a project.

Use the Task Options Menu

The sidebar task menu provides an entry for "Move to Project" and allows you to select an existing project; you can also create a new project in the corresponding interface. Tasks within a project can use "Remove from Project" to return to the general task list. When the list is long, continue loading or expanding the interface to find the correct project before selecting.

  1. Open the task's options menu.
  2. Select "Move to Project" and choose the target project.
  3. To remove, use "Remove from Project" and then check the task's location.

What to Check After Moving

Confirm that the task appears in the expected location and that opening it still shows the original conversation. Moving a task changes its organizational position and should not be considered copying, public sharing, or deletion. Associating a local folder with a project does not mean past tasks will be rerun; to execute new work, you still need to explicitly make requests within the task and check the available environment. After moving into a project, you can expand the project to check if the task exists; when continuing work, open the original conversation directly.
