What to Do If Report Is Generated but Attachment Download or Delivery Fails

Check the generation status, actual path, and connection, then redo the delivery.

First Distinguish Between Generation and Delivery

Even if the file is generated successfully, uploading or displaying the attachment afterward may still fail; conversely, mentioning a filename in the main text does not prove that the file actually exists. Have the Agent check the file's location, size, and generation status first to avoid unnecessary reruns from scratch.

If the background process is still writing results, file delivery may be temporarily blocked to prevent sending incomplete output.

Recover Step by Step

After environment or connection changes, first confirm that it is still the original target machine. Different machines may have files with the same name but different content.

You can first request redelivery of a smaller completed file to help distinguish between overall connection issues and problems with a single output. After confirming the connection is normal, then handle the original file’s path or generation status; do not rerun the entire job just because one attachment failed.

  1. Check whether the file exists and the generation process has finished.
  2. Confirm that the correct full path in the current environment is used.
  3. Restore the corresponding connection first if offline locally.
  4. Only redeliver the attachment, then download and check its integrity.

Do Not Repeat Uncertain Writes

If failure occurs during file modification, check the content before deciding to retry, especially do not directly append repeatedly. For batch deliveries, note which files succeeded and which failed, and only supplement the unfinished parts. If still unable to obtain, keep error messages, file types, and occurrence times; do not publicly post sensitive file contents or private paths as troubleshooting material.
