What is the difference between automatic language detection and manual selection?

Decide whether the interface follows the browser language or uses a fixed language.

When is automatic detection suitable

The “Automatic detection” option in the language selector means following the browser language. If you want each device to use the appropriate language or often change the browser language, you can use this option. It does not require you to manually select each time, but the displayed results depend on the language information provided by the browser and the languages supported by the application.

How to set a fixed language

If you want to use a fixed interface language regardless of browser changes, go to Settings → General → Language and select a specific language. You can use the search box to locate the language before selecting. When changing, wait for the loading feedback to complete before judging whether the setting was successful; if it is still loading or an error occurs, do not assume the setting is saved just because the option was clicked.

  1. Open the language selector in General Settings.
  2. Select Automatic detection if you want to follow the browser language.
  3. Select a specific language if you want to keep a fixed interface language.

Separate handling from task communication language

The language used for the interface does not mean every task must use the same language. You can explicitly request explanations in Chinese or keep English terms in your questions; for ongoing tasks, if you want to change the response language, you should also state it directly. This way, you can keep a familiar interface while allowing different tasks to use appropriate communication languages.
