Hackcat

How to Switch Between Light, Dark, or System-Following Modes?

Adjust the appearance using general settings and check the current display effect.

Choose the Appearance Suitable for Your Current Environment

On your first visit, Hackcat follows your device’s system color scheme. Choose Light or Dark to keep a fixed appearance, or leave System selected to follow changes to your device preferences. Your manual choice is remembered in the current browser. Appearance changes do not affect task content, model selection, or the colors inside uploaded files.

Change in General Settings

Open the sidebar user menu → Settings → General, and find "Appearance." The menu offers system, light, and dark options. After selecting, check the page background, text, and input area effects to confirm if they meet your expectations; if you want a fixed appearance, directly choose light or dark instead of the system option.

  1. Go to Settings → General.
  2. Select system, light, or dark in the appearance menu.
  3. Return to your task and check if the main text and input area are easy to read.

Use the Same Appearance in the Help Center

The Help Center has an Appearance selector at the bottom of every page, with the same System, Light, and Dark options. In the same browser, your choice is shared with the main Hackcat website. After changing it on one site, return to the other tab or reload the page to see the same preference.

Private browsing, cleared site data, or blocked browser storage can prevent a choice from being remembered or shared. You can still switch the current Help Center page. Language and appearance are separate preferences.

Pay Attention to Device Settings When Following System

If the appearance changes after selecting system, first check the system theme used by your device or browser. Images, screenshots, and attachment previews in the interface may retain their original color schemes and therefore may not synchronize with the page background. To compare a screenshot or show it to others, you can temporarily switch to a mode you are familiar with and switch back afterward. After switching appearance, check long texts and code areas again to ensure the contrast is suitable for reading.
