How to Modify or Remove the Local Folder Bound to a Project?

Edit the project directory on the desktop, distinguishing between unbinding the path and deleting disk files.

Open the Project Editing Interface on the Desktop

When a project has a bound directory, the editing interface will display the path. Hackcat Desktop provides controls to modify the directory or remove the binding; the browser can see the existing directory but will prompt you to open the desktop to make changes or remove it. Please first confirm which directory on the current computer corresponds to the project, especially when multiple machines have similarly named folders—do not rely solely on the last folder name.

Select a New Location and Save the Project

Use the directory selector to choose the desired location or remove the current binding, then save the project. The interface will indicate that new Agent tasks will start from the selected directory; if unbound, the project can still be used as a regular project for organizing tasks. Removing the binding changes the project path configuration; it does not require deleting the directory on disk, nor does it mean files have been moved to another machine or uploaded to the cloud.

Existing Tasks Need Separate Verification

Before modifying, check whether any tasks are still running in the original directory; do not rely on editing the project to automatically stop, migrate, or roll back these operations. After saving, create a small-scale read-only task from the project to confirm the working directory is correct. If you have moved or renamed the original files, also verify that the new location is accessible. If you encounter prompts that saving is not possible or the desktop is not connected, restore the connection first and then retry.
