What to Do If Local Agent Prompts Missing or Invalid Service Address?

Recopy the complete command generated by the current settings; do not splice backend parameters from old articles.

The Current Client Requires a Clear Address

Besides connection credentials, Local Agent also requires a service address; the current version does not have a built-in default backend. If the terminal shows a missing Hackcat backend URL or invalid address, it means the startup parameters do not meet requirements, which is a different error from the command tool not existing. Do not repeatedly send Agent tasks before successful startup, and do not misinterpret this error as the account lacking usage permissions.

Return to Current Settings and Recopy

Open the Hackcat account settings you are using → Remote Control, click "Copy Command," and paste it completely on the target machine. Avoid copying only the first half, deleting address parameters, or continuing to use commands saved from old tutorials. Normal connections do not require manual configuration of the development address; the client also checks the address format, and arbitrarily replacing it with a web URL does not guarantee it can serve as a correct service entry point.

Maintain Consistent Source When Manually Managing Commands

Users familiar with CLI who use self-built scripts or global installations should also keep the parameters generated by the current settings to avoid another startup script bringing in an old address. Do not send credentials to unknown services to test connections. After restarting, wait for the ready prompt before verifying the interface; if the address issue disappears but changes to authentication or relay errors, continue troubleshooting according to the new stage, and only share error texts after desensitization.
