Why Does It Say Quota Has Been Used Up?

Distinguishing daily counts, monthly usage, context length, and concurrent running limits.

Understand the Types of Limits First

"Quota used up" may refer to different limits. Free accounts have daily request quotas as well as separate monthly usage caps; Ask and local Agent share the free quota. Even if you haven't sent many messages that day, you might have already hit the monthly usage limit.

Too long context, ongoing requests, and insufficient monthly usage are different issues and require different handling methods.

Choose Next Steps According to the Prompt

Keep the error message and original task; do not resend repeatedly. Free accounts currently do not have a detailed usage settings page; recovery time is based on the prompt in the conversation.

When troubleshooting, keep the limit type and recovery time from the prompt; do not just note "cannot be used anymore." If the same task first encounters a length issue and after shortening encounters a quota issue, it may be that both conditions apply separately; continue judging based on the latest prompt.

  1. Insufficient daily or monthly quota: check the corresponding recovery prompt.
  2. Ongoing requests running: return to the original task, wait for completion or stop it.
  3. Content too long: reduce the scope of material, keep key context.

Where to Check for Paid Accounts

Applicable paid accounts can view usage and records in User Menu → Settings → Usage; extra usage is managed in a separate setting. Local execution still uses model services and account quota; creating new conversations or switching devices does not increase account quota. Do not mistake reconnecting as quota recovery.
