How Are Files Used After Being Selected in the Desktop Agent?

Distinguish between local path attachments and files that need to be uploaded for preview, and confirm account and environment conditions.

First Confirm Mode and Selected Computer

When the desktop application is in Agent mode and the current desktop execution environment is selected, local file paths can be used as attachments. After switching to a browser, another machine, or a different mode, the handling of paths may differ. File selection and upload are still subject to account permission checks; ordinary file uploads on the current free account will prompt for an upgrade. Connecting to a local environment does not automatically remove attachment function restrictions.

Local Attachments Do Not Always Mean No Upload

Ordinary local files can be accessed by the current desktop Agent via their paths, but some images will still be uploaded to provide previews or for model processing; larger images may also be handled only as files within the environment. Therefore, do not assume that 'selecting a file on the desktop' means no content will leave the computer. Check the file scope before adding, handle sensitive materials according to your own requirements, and note that related tasks and tool results may also be processed by the service.

Keep Paths Valid Before and After Sending

Check whether attachments are ready and if there are any failure prompts, and verify the target environment. When a task needs to read a local path, do not move, rename, or delete the original file arbitrarily before reading; if the location changes, remove the old attachment and reselect it. If metadata reading fails, first check whether the file still exists and system permissions. Switching computers does not automatically copy these local files; when restoring, you need to confirm the access location again.
