Attachment Upload Failed: When Can I Retry Directly?
Choose to retry, re-add, or first resolve permission and file issues based on the failure type.
First Distinguish Between Transmission Failure and Unmet Conditions
Network or transmission errors may be retried; if the file is too large, quantity exceeds limits, the account lacks upload permissions, or the local file cannot be read, these conditions must be resolved first. Currently, uploading regular files for free accounts will show an upgrade prompt; repeatedly reconnecting the computer will not change this restriction. First, read the error message next to the attachment; do not treat all 'Upload failed' messages as temporary network fluctuations.
Only Retry Directly When a Button Is Provided
For regular files still on the page that can be retried, the failed card will show a Retry button, which can be clicked after the network is restored. Not every attachment provides this button: pasted text attachments have a separate edit-and-retry method, and local path files require verifying the actual file. If leaving the page causes upload interruption, follow the prompt to remove the old attachment, then reselect the same source file.
Check Complete Status Before Resending
Wait for all required attachments to finish preparing, check if there are still failed or uploading items, then send the message. To reduce repeated transfers, keep the original files and avoid repeatedly adding many copies simultaneously. Desktop local attachments also require the original path and selected environment to be valid; if files are moved, re-add them from the correct location. When partial success occurs, only handle the failed items; do not delete all attachments that are already prepared by default.
