What to Do If the Browser Shows Login Success but Does Not Return to the Desktop App?
Use the redirect link on the current authentication completion page; if it fails, restart from the desktop app.
First Check the Authentication Completion Page
After successful desktop authentication, the browser will attempt to open Hackcat Desktop and provide an Open Hackcat button. If the system or browser asks whether to open the app, first confirm it points to your installed Hackcat, then follow the prompts. Do not assume the desktop login process is complete just because the browser account is logged in; both still require proper redirect coordination.
Use Only the Address Generated by This Login Attempt
Click Open Hackcat on the current completion page, then check the desktop window. Do not repeatedly open old redirects from history, nor manually modify address parameters or send them to others. The desktop will verify whether this login was initiated from the current app; if state is missing, credentials do not match, or the session has expired, old links cannot reliably restore the session and you should return to the app to click login again.
Narrow Down Troubleshooting If It Still Fails
Confirm you have installed the current desktop version from the official download, and avoid operating multiple app copies or multiple authentication tabs simultaneously. If prompted to "update desktop to log in," follow the update process; if login cannot start, first check your network. When reporting issues, provide system and desktop version details and specify at which step the failure occurred. Only keep error messages; in screenshots, mask the full authentication URL and any sensitive parameters.
