How to Find, Update, or Delete Existing Notes?
First locate the original record, then modify it to avoid duplicates and contradictions.
Locate with Clear Clues
The note tool supports searching by relevant categories, tags, or text. You can request "Find notes about the test environment," then verify titles and content to avoid mistaking projects with the same name or old versions for the current record.
Management of notes is also available under Settings → Personalization, providing access to view and delete notes, suitable for manual organization.
Explain Changes Before Updating
Provide the facts that need to be changed and the parts that should be retained, so Hackcat can update the matching existing record; do not just say "remember the new" without clarifying whether the old record is still valid.
For example, after an environment version upgrade, first find the old version note, explain the new version and the parts still applicable, then update the original record. This is clearer than keeping two conflicting notes simultaneously; the reason and date of change also help determine which information is valid later.
- First find and confirm the target note.
- Specify the content to be corrected, supplemented, or replaced.
- After completion, check whether the record reflects the latest conditions.
- Decide whether to delete invalid or duplicate records.
Difference Between Deleting and Task Content
Deleting a note does not mean deleting all chats that previously referenced it, and deleting a task will not automatically clean up all saved notes for you. If old information continues to affect answers, clearly indicate that the facts have changed and manage the corresponding notes. Retain needed content before deleting; when cleaning in bulk, confirm the scope first to avoid deleting all useful records just to remove one piece of outdated information.
