What Does 'Remember Account on This Device' Save?
Understand the purpose of account prompts and when they should be removed.
It Makes Selecting an Account Easier Next Time
During the email verification step, you can choose 'Remember Account on This Device.' Later, the login window may display the account name and a masked email address to help you confirm which account you want to continue using. This prompt itself does not log you in automatically; you still need to complete verification, so it should not be considered proof of an existing valid session.
How to Use and Remove the Prompt
When you see a remembered account, selecting it allows you to continue the corresponding verification process. If you no longer want to keep the prompt, you can use the 'Forget This Account on This Device' option on the account card; if you need to log in with another identity, choose 'Use Another Account.' After these actions, confirm that the window has returned to your desired selection state.
- Check 'Remember Account' during login verification as needed.
- Verify the account name and email shown in the prompt when you enter again.
- Click the 'Forget This Account' button when you no longer need it.
How to Choose on Shared Devices
Public or shared devices are not suitable for saving your own account prompts, and you should log out after use. Removing the prompt and logging out are different actions: the former clears the quick login prompt, while the latter ends the current session. If the device is no longer in your possession, you can use the 'Log Out of All Devices' feature in account security settings. Before removing, make sure the account card indeed corresponds to your own identity.
