Does Switching Agents Always Solve Upload Errors for Oversized Files or Images?

Distinguish between Ask, Agent, and image processing limits, and reduce file size according to the actual task.

Understanding Size Limits Based on Current Mode

In the current interface, Ask imposes an approximate 10MB limit for ordinary single files and about 5MB for directly processed images; Agent allows a higher single file limit, currently around 250MB. Error messages will specify size conditions and should be based on the current interface. Different limits correspond to different processing paths; just because the backend supports larger general file sizes does not mean the Ask interface must allow attachments of the same size.

Confirm Permissions and Processing Methods Before Switching

Agent can analyze larger files within its execution environment but still requires the account to have upload permissions and an available environment. It does not guarantee that the model can directly read the entire large file. Larger images or files may only be accessible to tools within the environment rather than being directly input as model images. Free accounts’ normal upload limits are not automatically lifted by successful local connections, so check specific upgrade or environment prompts before deciding on the processing method.

Prioritize Submitting Only the Necessary Parts of the Task

You can crop irrelevant image areas, export required pages or record ranges, or split the task into meaningful smaller files; do not attempt to bypass checks by merely changing file extensions. Keep the original file, confirm that the reduced version still contains necessary information, then re-add and wait for preparation to complete. If the size meets requirements but the upload still fails, continue checking format, quantity, or network issues; do not repeatedly upload the same oversized file.
