How to Set a Shared Budget and Member Limits for Team Extra Usage?
The team recharge pool is managed by administrators and is subject to both team and member budget limits.
Shared Balance Covers Usage Beyond Included Quotas
Team Extra Usage is a shared additional balance pool. Whether members can continue using it after reaching their plan's included usage limit depends on whether the pool is enabled, if the balance is sufficient, and the limits set for the team and the individual member.
It does not automatically combine all members' included quotas into a single balance that can be freely allocated. Team plan quotas, shared recharge balance, and member limits must be checked separately.
Enabling the team recharge pool does not guarantee that Max is selectable in the model menu; Team should not be considered as already including that tier. Confirm the actually selectable models before purchasing additional balance.
Controls Administrators Can Set
In Settings → Extra Usage, team administrators can add balance, set a monthly spending cap for the team, and set limits or suspend individual members from using the team extra balance. Members seeing restrictions should first contact the administrator for verification.
Even if the team balance is sufficient, a member may be unable to continue due to reaching their personal limit or being suspended. Conversely, a member who has not reached their personal limit cannot bypass insufficient team balance or the team's overall spending cap.
Troubleshooting When a Member Cannot Continue Using
- Check if the team recharge pool is enabled and has balance.
- Check if the team's total spending for the month has reached the limit.
- Check if the member is suspended or has reached their personal limit; confirm before adjusting budgets instead of repeatedly recharging directly.
